Sublette BOCES Mission Statement:
The mission of the Sublette Board of Cooperative Educational
Services (BOCES) is to promote lifelong learning in our community.

To accomplish this mission, Sublette BOCES had established the
following goals: Goal I Goal II Goal III Goal IV Goal V Goal VI
- Goal I. Sublette
BOCES will support distance learning initiatives to enhance educational opportunities
for the community.

Sublette BOCES will support, both financially and administratively, distance learning
venues (ie. the Wyoming Equality Network (WEN) and Polycom) in order to provide
programs for high school students, college students, educators and community organizations.
Sublette BOCES will support distance learning programs offered by accredited institutions
to include (but not limited to): Western Wyoming Community College and University
of Wyoming.
Sublette BOCES will provide public access to computers with internet access to support
distance learning programs.
Sublette BOCES will support internet access for high school students enrolled in
courses that are offered via distance.

- Goal II. Sublette
BOCES will maintain and expand programs that will enrich curriculum for students,
preschool through twelfth grade.

Sublette BOCES will administer and sponsor a summer enrichment program for Pinedale
Middle School that will include programs such as the Yellowstone Outdoor Education
Camp, Green River Expedition, Rendezvous Activities, and science enrichrichment
trip.
Sublette BOCES may provide a grant to Pinedale Elementary School and Pinedale Middle
School to help support their summer school program.
Sublette BOCES will support a partnership with Teton Science School that will provide
educational enrichment programs for high school, middle school and elementary school
students.
Sublette BOCES will support community partnerships with entities such as the Pinedale
Fine Arts Council and the Sublette County Historical Society in order to enrich
learning opportunities for district students.

BOCES will support continuing education for adult learners in the community.

Sublette BOCES will provide support for a General Equivalency Degree (GED) program
that will include the establishment of a preparation and testing center.
Sublette BOCES will provide support for Associate's Degree programs offered by Western
Wyoming Community College.
Sublette BOCES will provide support for Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degree
programs offered by accredited institutions to include (but not limited to) the
University of Wyoming.
Sublette BOCES will work with local industry to assess need and provide appropriate
training opportunities.
Sublette BOCES will provide access to technology for learning opportunities.
Sublette BOCES will provide support for community service programs.

BOCES will support concurrent college credit courses for high school students.

Sublette BOCES will provide tuition and administrative support for on-site concurrent
courses offered through Western Wyoming Community College.
Sublette BOCES will provide tuition and administrative support for distance courses
offered by accredited institutions via the WEN, Polycom or the internet.

BOCES will support the establishment and maintenance of a Wide Area Network.

Sublette BOCES will support internet access for the community.
Sublette BOCES will support the purchase of equipment to maintain WAN needs.
Sublette BOCES will support the service of the Network Administrator by contracting
with the district for one-half the salary and benefits.

Items listed below each goal are cited only as examples of program
initiatives. *District refers to the community served by Sublette County School
District #1.

On June 13, 1996, the Board of Trustees of Sublette County School District #1 and
the Board of Trustees of Western Wyoming College agreed to establish the Sublette
Board of Cooperative Education Services. This BOCES was formed to provide cooperative
services including, but not limited top:
- distance learning
- adult education
- high school concurrent enrollment
- summer enrichment programs
- teacher inservice and training
A board of five trustees governs Sublette BOCES, four appointed by SCSD #1 and one
appointed by WWCC (Western Wyoming Community College). Funding comes from a one-half
mill levy authorized by the school district.
Sublette Boces and the WWCC Pinedale Outreach office is located in the basement
of the Pinedale High School.
