With school beginning and families needing help, the PAC and BOCES have combined to offer after school enrichment programs for elementary children. Both organizations hope to help working parents have alternatives for their children after school.
The Sublette BOCES After School program dates back years and it is a part of the Wyoming After-School Alliance. The program this fall will be for kids in the K-5 age range and focus on outdoor activities related to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). The program provides a low-key environment with hands-on learning. Parents can register their children for any day of the week programs are offered (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
In addition to youth sports, the Pinedale Aquatic Center will be offering three after school options. One option is Little Wrangler Fridays and now PAC is adding an after school program for Monday through Thursday. The After School program is for children in grades 2-5 and it will emphasize recreation activities and organized play. An additional After School in the Pool program will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays. Later in the fall, expect to see a climbing club, workout programs and more.
In both programs, the safety and health of children will be emphasized and enrollments are capped. It is a good idea to enroll your children now. Registration is available at: www.subletteboces.com/classes and www.pinedaleaquatic.com.
